LEAF HOUND-GROWER OF MUSHROOMS-

As the band Black Cat Bone replaced their singer and hired Peter French, the only thing left for this outfit was to change their name and get on with a fresh start. Released late in 1970, this album Always get notice of being a major influence on the stoner genre and no Point arguing about that.

A tough mix of hard/psych/blues rock doesn´t leave anybody disappointed and it is only fair to expect this kind of evolution from earlier setttings of the band. The album got a bit wear of time to it, but consider the extravaganza in the songs, Everything´s quickly forgotten.

The producing could have been better but brings a bit of historical treatment to the songs and for sure, this brings a certain flavour and colouring to the whole soundframe. Every bandmember is doing a splendid job and you hear that this is a well rehearsed crew.

Whatabout the drummer, Keith George Young?? This is a well oiled interactor with the rest of the band and I doubt if any other drummer would perform with this great drive and delivery. The striking has an uphill journey to do but much is the lack of fingertop feeling of the producing. The techniques are avarage with no trick´s in the hat. Just plain cool drumming. Mmm homegroove.. 🙂

This album is a must have in any man/womans record Collection. An important record that brings the borderline closer to mainstream Music in a very solid almost perfect way. All songs are terrific but yet not popular in the sense of Deep Purple or Led Zeppelin.

There are great reissues out there so take my sincere advice and buy a copy. You will congratulate yourself later on in Life. A promise easy to keep. 🙂

This American outfit which originates from NY City, released there debut album in 1971.

As the album always is better known in the Acid/psych/hard rock communities, it is a bit strange that this album never got real recognition back in the day. All ingredients to a succesful album is present and the production is top notch. This is a great piece of work!!

Formed in 1969 by Richard Wise, Kenny Aaronson and Marc Bell this Powertrio toured hard and released Another album in 1972  and Mr. Wise had already begun the Writing for their third album when the band called it a quites, due to poor promotion and the lack of interest to produce a new album by Mr.Wise. Their debut is a strong story with no song falling under the radar. The style is hard in the Foundation and tend to bend in wary directions with Blues/progg/psych in an odd blend. Really Cool!!! 🙂

Whatabout the drummer, Marc Bell?? This a youngster with great delivery and good Clean striking. Bold playing style match the fabolous bass player like a glove. The techniqual department is avarage with Dynamics to match. Mr Bell would later interact with Richard Hell And the Voidoids amongs others.

This is a must have record if you´re into early American Hard/blues/prog /psych rock. Great reissues are out there with top notch producing so this is a piece to spin on your turntable more than just at odd occasions. Splendid…:-)
