Electrifying

ELECTRIC CITIZEN-SATEEN-

Released june 1 2014 this is a really nice album. Originated from Cincinnati Ohio this four piece band brings the heritage from stoner/doom bands like Black Sabbath and Pentagram and like a shot in the arm they revive the genre in public. An electrifying experience..

Without falling in to the commercial trap of heaviness, this album mix both folk and psychadelic influences in an excellent way. The production is flawless. Vocalist Laura Dolan sets the mood in her very personal way of singing. The rest of the instruments just fits right in to this mood and they  are all doing a splendid job. The suggestive keyboards are brought to us by guest apperence by Yussef Quotah.

Whatabout the drummer, Nate Wagner?? Well you can hear that this is not the drummer who´s responsible for this great album. Cautious and almost anxious is the feeling towards the songs. The album would have benefitted from a bit more attitude on the drums. The playing is nowhere near bad but as I reflect due to listening it fall into a kind of void. Maybe this is a producer item but it lacks some raw Power.

It´s easy to recommend you to buy this album. Everything falls into Place after a couple of spins on the turntable and I must confess that I long for another play when record is over.
