Tip of the day.
I often get the question why my drumkit sound´s good or a comment that “it´s fun to play on my kit because it has a nice sound to it”. The thing is to master the technique to tune your drums. It is really simple when you get in to it.
Once you have decided which style of music you want to play, select the drumhead of your taste within the frame of that particular music style. A heavy sound to your drumkit set you off with a more narrow choice of drumheads as you certainly will strike harder on the kit.
There´s a fine line here, for example, Remos pinestripe drumheads versus powerstroke drumheads. Personally the Pinestripe sound much more muffled than the powerstroke but the advantage of powerstrokes is that it´s easier to tune to your liking. That said it´s more adaptable to musicstyles.
Take your time to look over the following link to tune your kit to perfection .
Don´t forget to experiment.
Enjoy.
